Akihiro Iwashitaˇˇbecomes Vice President of ABS

Recently, ABS(The Association for Borderlands Studies) members voted for their Second Vice President who will take over the position of Vice President next April 2013 at the ABS Annual Meeting in Denver.
The candidates were; Dra. Sandra Bustillos-Durán, a professor at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico and Dr. Akihiro Iwashita, a professor at the Slavic Research Center of Hokkaido University, Japan.
Akihiro Iwashita was declared the winner.
78 votes were received from 196 eligible members. This indicates a 40% response rate.
