¡ÈSmall island country Japan.¡É A typical stereotype of Japan, but this is simply not true. There are 6852 islands and the economic zone stretches 4.47 million km2, the sixth largest in the world. Japan shares its borders with not only Russia, North Korea, Korea, China and Taiwan but also the U.S. and Philippines. This is a fact about the sea country Japan. However, many people in Japan do not perceive Japan as a border country. Not only that, many do not understand that Japan is a product of its relations with the surrounding regions that has continued from the past till the present. This book attempts to dismantle the realities of the nation from the border field that is continuously bound by its ¡Èlight existence."
