The 12th Seoul National University (SNU) and Hokkaido University (HU) Joint Symposium entitled “Working Together for Green Growth” will be held at SNU on Nov. 20th, 2009 to commemorate the sister university relations between the two universities. Presidents of both universities will be delivering their keynote speech at this event. As part of this memorable occasion, the Institute for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies (IREEES) at SNU and the Slavic Research Center (SRC) will be co-hosting the 2nd Joint Symposium entitled “Current Issues of Russian-Slavic Studies in Korea and Japan” which will be held at the SNU campus on the next day, November 21st. The Global COE Program is also co-sponsoring this event, together with these institutions. Prominent Russian and Slavic Studies experts and scholars from Japan and Korea will be discussing current and pressing issues in various disciplines ranging from Literature, History, Sociology, Politics and International Relations.
